Class 12 Exam Can be Taken Online

 Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mr. Giriraj Mani Pokharel has instructed the National Examination Board (NEB) to prepare for the Class 12 examination to be attended online from wherever the students are.

Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokhrel today instructed the board officials at the Singha Durbar-based ministry to ensure that the students meet the health criteria from where they are and join the examination.

Minister Pokharel has instructed the concerned school to provide the facility through mobile data to the students in case of any problem in the internet and write the test on the board, said Minister Pokharel’s secretariat member Mr. Binod Neupane.

During the discussion, it was decided to make the education development and coordination unit in the district and the local level more effective.

Secretary at the Ministry Gopinath Mainali, Chairman of the Board Dr. Chandra Mani Poudel, Member Secretary Durga Prasad Aryal and Joint Secretary of the Ministry Deepak Sharma were present at the discussion.

The news that the board has recommended the government of Nepal to take the exam online with various options was first transmitted on September 16. Preparations have been made to conduct the exam for a short period with social distance and get 40 percent marks.

20 percent of the student’s marks will be calculated from the internal assessment and 40 percent from class 11 marks. The board is preparing to collect the details of the candidates from outside the district and include them in the examination.

In the examination schedule made public by the Board, requesting the candidates who are infected with COVID-19 not to participate in the examination, separate arrangements will be made for such candidates later on the basis of the report of the accredited laboratory of the Government of Nepal. The exam, which was scheduled to be held on April 22, was postponed due to the risk of corona epidemic.
